Marie-Christine is the coordinator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The overall aim of the Busy Bees: to raise members\u2019 awareness of how we can have a positive impact on the environment in our every-day lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Busy Bees hope the upcoming FAWCO conference will be as green as possible. Some ideas to achieve this include going paperless, reducing the use of water in plastic bottles, car-pooling to come to the event and hopefully other suggestions will be put forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>HOW CAN AIWCC HELP THE ENVIRONMENT<\/strong><br><strong>WHAT CAN INDIVIDUAL AIWCC MEMBERS DO?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Avoid single use plastic (See M-C\u2019s \u201ccharlottes\u201d)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recycle plastic &amp; tin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Buy organic food<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walk or cycle more<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduce water use<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Composting (Rajae is our AIWCC expert)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bee friendly gardens (M-C and Jamila are two of our gardening experts)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>AIWCC Development and Tree Projects 1996-2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AIWCC started contributing to development projects, in addition to numerous charity projects, in 1996. These were with funds raised over and above regular fund-raising activities for charity and were for one-time start-up funds for a specific purpose. Several projects were funded through DG grants from FAWCO.<br>In 2000 AIWCC were inspired to rename the tree planting activities The Millenium Forest, co-sponsored by FAWCO and recognized by the United Nations as a bona fide development project.
